Keeping an eye on your Mac

Process X-Ray

Have you ever wondered what happens behind the screen? Process X-Ray shows you how much happens that is never even hinted at on your computer screen. You will discover how even a simple action you take, like launching an application, can trigger a landslide of programs being executed behind the scenes. You will find hidden programs on your computer that behave just like agents in a hacker’s command & control network - hopefully they are all benign.

Network X-Ray

Watch and investigate connections to servers by process on your computer. The program initiating the connection (if Process X-Ray is also installed), remote IP address and port, queried and final DNS names for the server, and (when available) URL hostname, full URL, and variables sent in the URL.

X-Ray-Client

The command-line x-ray-client can connect to either the Process X-Ray or Network X-Ray system extensions and provides logging support for the data they generate. x-ray-client can also send the data to standard out letting you chain it together with 3rd party tools.
